Empeleni wathi: "Singadla kuzo zonke izihlahla zezithelo esizithandayo ngaphandle kwesihlahla esisodwa esiphakathi nensimu lapho uNkulunkulu ethe ungadli kuso noma usithinte, ngoba uzokufa".

 “Ngenxa yalokho, owesifazane wabona ukuthi umuthi wawukulungele ukudliwa nokuthi wawungokuthile okulangazelelekayo emehlweni, yebo, umuthi wawufiseleka ukuba ubukeke. Ngakho, wathatha isithelo sawo wadla. Kamuva wanika nomyeni wakhe lapho esekanye naye futhi naye wakudla. 7 Lapho-ke amehlo abo bobabili avuleka base bebona ukuthi bahamba ze. Ngakho, bathunga amaqabunga omkhiwane bazenzela izembozo ezinkalweni ”

Ngokudla emthini wolwazi lokuhle nokubi, u-Eva wavumela inkanuko yenyama (ukunambitheka kokudla okumnandi) nesifiso samehlo (umuthi wawufiseleka ukubukwa). Wayefuna nendlela yokuphila okwakungeyona eyakhe. Wayefuna ukufana noNkulunkulu. Ngakho, ngesikhathi esifanele, wadlula emhlabeni, njengoba nje leli zwe elibi lizokwenza ngesikhathi sikaNkulunkulu esifanele. "8 Kamuva bezwa izwi likaJehova uNkulunkulu ehamba ensimini ngesikhathi sokuphumula sosuku, indoda nomkayo bacasha ebusweni bukaJehova uNkulunkulu phakathi kwemithi yensimu. 9 UJehova uNkulunkulu wayelokhu embiza umuntu, wathi kuye: “Uphi?” 10 Ekugcineni wathi: “Ngizwe izwi lakho ensimini, kodwa ngesaba ngoba ngihamba ze ngakho ngacasha.” 11 Kulokho wathi: “Ngubani okutshele ukuthi uhamba ze? Udlile kulowo muthi engakuyala ngawo ukuthi ungadli kuwo? ” 12 Indoda yaqhubeka yathi: “Owesifazane onginike yena ukuba abe nami, unginikile [isithelo] esihlahleni ngadla.” 13 Ngalokho uJehova uNkulunkulu wathi kowesifazane: “Yini le oyenzile?” Owesifazane waphendula wathi: “Inyoka — ingikhohlisile ngadla.”

Kamuva ngalolo suku u-Adamu no-Eva bezwa izwi likaJehova uNkulunkulu ensimini lapho kushaya umoya.
