Treasures from God’s Word and Digging for Spiritual Gems – “A faith-strengthening vision” (Mark 9-10)

Video – Love and Respect Unites Families.

The actual sentiments of the video are good; however as with most videos produced for a while, the woman is again cast as the villain and the man as the peacemaker. It seems there is a subtle undercurrent to cast women as the troublemakers. It will only take you a short while to review a number of short videos like these to see how often this is the case.

It is also sad that while all the Bible principles and points made are correct and so important, it seems that local elders in general pay lip service to these principles when dealing with marriage problems between married partners.

Hi.I have a question about this week Bible reading. The first talk ,, A Faith-Strengthening Vision ,, it's about transfiguration.I remember that Moses and Elijah symbolizes the anointing class who are glorified with Christ from 1919.The problem is the conversation this 2 man have with Jesus.Only in Luke parallel account it said Luke 9:31 ,, These appeared with glory and began talking about his departure, which he was about to fulfill at Jerusalem,, My question is : How is possible that a class who appear only 2000 years later, to discuss with Lord Jesus things present to his circumstances. What is your opinion about the explanation of transfiguration vision? Thanks.

As far as I can tell, the transfiguration is a foregleam of the Kingdom. Luke places the account quite early in Jesus ministry.

Moses represented the law, Elijah the prophets. Jehovah was saying that these things were important but they are only shadows of the reality. In Luke 9:35, Jehovah reminds us "listen to him". Things had changed.

This seems the most obvious understanding of the occasion. That is how I believe those who were there would have understood things.

        That sounds reasonable.
