All religions or sects are by definition; a cult, when you consider what the definition of a cult is. Diana is so right. In the years since I walked away, I have met hundreds of people who have a kind heart who are undeniably good people. It has made me more aware that many will be found in the end of times to be rightous and it was stunning to me to find that all religions say the same thing about anyone who does not subscribe to their kind of faith including bapitism, will be distroyed at armagedon. I took a proverbal "red pill" and wow did that unlock my mind to be open, yet also guarded, to all things great and small. I now go to aid orphanages in Mexico and the Philippines. Shunned eh? I have been reading the bible (KJV) every night now for some time. I am currently on my 4th time round.
One scripture that leapt off the pages for me is Deut.18 v 22.

BTW I never received a card or letter or bible from the congregation when i entered the congregation after baptism.
As far as I know no-one ever does.
So why should I write any letter of disassociation but only to appease the pharisee thinking of the wts.

They put nothing in writing that goes outside their armed camp.

Fully agree. That's also my case. I didn't get anything from them, I didn't give them anything. BTW, JWs have no document to prove their membership in the organization for authorities. WT is a cult!

"(The other jw) May choose toshun you." What bullshit! Choose? Like the jw in Malawi "Chose" not to wear the political party cards.

"certains peuvent choisir de vous éviter" !!!
Moi aussi cette phrase m'a fait sortir de mes gonds ! Quelle hypocrisie !

J'admire le calme de la sœur. Bravo à elle.
Qu'elle sache, qu'après le choc de l'excommunication, elle dira merci à Dieu d'être sortie des griffes des hommes.
      Que Dieu la bénisse

So when you were not A JW, but you srarted studying with them your friends warned you of the dangers, but were happy to remain your friends. When the boot is on the other foot and you wish to study the bible with others, you are leaving them and everyone must shun you. The word "hypocrite" comes to mind. A superb recording for all of us here and the same old defence - do you believe the GB are the faithful and discreet slave appointed by Jesus ? (A question now among the baptism questions - but it wasn't when I got baptised). So, we must now believe a parable is a prophecy. I wonder how many other parables should also be taken prophetically.
